Repairs to a commercially built fence - Fence Repair Sleaford

One time of year that is painful for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance

company is January and February.

The winds in Lincolnshire wreck havoc on the fences, regardless of how well they are built. The water table is approx 18" down and the commercial fence erectors just have a JCB (Digger) with a back scoop scoop out a 4 ft hole, shove a 100mm x 100mm (4" x 4") post in there and pour in a bucket of concrete in the hole....Job done...

Now when they snap at ground level where they are constantly rotting due to the moisture and drying cycle breaking down and rotting the wood they become a nightmare to break out and replace. Not something for a shovel, hammer and chisel I can assure you (The types of fencing I am referring to are commonly seen at the top end of Quarrington (Sleaford) and the most of Greylees!!!!

To Remove 4 posts, 4 concrete balls the size of a small family car tool 2 of us 2 days to get done and that using pneumatic drills and Crow bars....

We still love the challenge though as usual and the customers were lovely, kind, thoughtful and let us get on with the job at hand.

Fence Repairs Ruskington Sleaford - New Fencing installer Ruskington

Here is a new fence installation nearing completion in Ruskington.

Feather Edge Fencing Installation In Quarrington

We spent today out in the cold installing Feather Edge fencing on a property in Quarrington. We used high density pressure treated 4" x 4" 8ft tall posts to make sure the recent weather does not tear it down again!

Replace Rotten Timber Fence Posts

ow To This little job involved breaking out 3 existing Rotten fence posts and re concreting 3 new ones back in again. The existing fencing were 6ft x 6ft timber panels that were nailed together! The main problem is the fence posts were 5" x 4" x 8ft posts. As I found out they are not a standard fence post! I managed to find a great company in Leicester who stocked them so it was a 3 hour round trip but it turned out worth it in the end!

Here you can see 2 of the new fence posts in sitting true and proper!
